Ranger Betrayal, chapter 5, by Swegi Gonbup, Gonbup Production©2023

Chapter 5: Temptation

He was in the neighborhood, so he felt that he should stop at the mall.  It was a weird feeling, but he parked his truck in a space by Target.  Man, his radio sounded awesome.  Ranger wasn't the type to read manuals, but his stereo upgrade was a test.  He turned off the the Bluetooth and the radio blarred.  Sports news. "That is the off button, right there." Click, he turned off the stereo system.  "Impulse shopping time," he muttered to himself.  The Jordans Tatum Celtics edition shoes are out.  Destination:  Finish Line.  New jeans from Dillard's, too.  He trekked into the crowded mall.

     Wtf...

Ranger felt a pit in his stomach as he watched Trish, his wife, flirt with a guy, in the food court, at the mall.

He had gone to the mall to get some new shoes, but what he found shattered his heart into pieces. Trish was laughing and touching some guy's arm, her sorority girl charm on full display.  He recognized the guy from somewhere.  Then, the guy hugged her and kissed her on the neck.

Ranger felt a mix of anger, betrayal, and disappointment as he stood there, hidden from their view, spying on his own wife.  Unable to bear the sight any longer, Ranger turned around and left the mall, his mind racing. He couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. Was Trish cheating on him too?  The guilt of his own recent affair with Sandy weighed heavily on him, but he couldn't ignore the fact that Trish was also being unfaithful. He felt a sense of betrayal that cut deep, knowing that the woman he had vowed to love and cherish was seeking affection from another man.  Ranger got into his white 2024 Ford F350 Lariat, newly lifted, luxurious truck.  He mashed the gas.  The tires squealed with delight. He'd barely noticed some Brazilian-mark walk right in front of him.  The mark's girlfriend broke a heel getting out of the way.  There was a group of them pointing at the spectacle.  Ranger turned up the stereo, and stuck a middle finger out of his opening sun roof.

Ranger navigated aimlessly, trying to clear his head. He needed to talk to someone, and the first person who came to mind was Sandy.  He called her, his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to keep his emotions in check. He told her he needed to see her and asked her to meet him at the Best Western hotel.  After hanging up the phone, Ranger's mind was in turmoil. He couldn't believe the turn of events in his life. He had always been athletic and friendly, known for his easygoing nature and charm. Fast-forward, his social life is now entangled in a web of deceit and infidelity. He thought about his childhood dreams of adventure and how his choices had led him to this point. He felt a sense of regret and remorse for his actions, knowing that he had betrayed the trust of the woman he had once promised to love forever.

As he checked into the Best Western hotel, Ranger's heart was heavy with guilt. He knew he was about to make another mistake, but he couldn't resist the temptation to be with Sandy, even if it was just for a fleeting moment of distraction from his troubled marriage. He waited anxiously for Sandy to arrive, his mind filled with conflicting emotions.  Ranger made a liquor run to Spec's.  Vodka shots, tonight.  When Sandy finally arrived, she looked stunning.  She had a sundress on.  He noticed that it was covering her goodies that were laced with lingerie.  Sandy's voluptuous figure, accentuated by the seductive outfit, set his mind at ease.  She greeted Ranger with a knowing smile, sensing his inner rage. They went into the hotel room, and their passion ignited instantly. In that moment, Ranger forgot about his marriage, the guilt, and the consequences of his actions. He gave in to the desire and the escape that Sandy offered, desperately seeking solace in her arms.  The night with Sandy was filled with fiery passion, but as the dawn approached, Ranger's guilt resurfaced.

He knew that what he was doing was wrong, that he was betraying Trish just like she had betrayed him. He couldn't ignore the nagging voice in his head that told him he was making a mistake, and he realized that he needed to end things with Sandy once and for all.  Then, he saw her, in full display as she jiggled her way to the shower.  Sandy is like a rich dessert.  All of it isn't enough.  Ranger approached Sandy from behind.  He palmed her naked ass, with his middle finger tipping the rim of her asshole.  He smooched her cheek.  He said, "Later!" Sandy answered, "Até logo, papai."

He put his shirt, last.  Ranger flung the door open.  Then, he slammed the door.  As he left the hotel room, Ranger felt a heavy weight on his shoulders. He knew that he had to face the consequences of his actions and make things right with Trish. He couldn't continue down the path of deception and infidelity any longer. He drove back to his home in Uptown Houston, feeling a mix of apprehension and determination.  When he arrived home, Trish was there, waiting for him. Her hot pink 2023 Dodge Challenger Demon was parked in the driveway, but Ranger felt a sense of trepidation as he approached the front door. He didn't know how to confront her about what he had seen at the mall.  He knew that he had to be honest with her, though.
